Sabine Pass Expansion
Cheniere Energy signed an EPC contract with Bechtel for the first phase of its Sabine Pass expansion in La. Phase 1 centers on Train 7, a boil-off gas re-liquefaction unit and related infrastructure. A limited notice to proceed allows early engineering and procurement to begin. Expected nameplate capacity exceeds 6 mtpa, with FID targeted for early 2027. Sabine Pass currently operates over 30 mtpa, making it the largest USLNG export facility in operation.

Commonwealth LNG Storage Tanks
CB&I received a lump sum contract from Technip Energies on behalf of Caturus for five 50,000 cubic meter full containment concrete LNG storage tanks for the Commonwealth LNG project in Cameron, La. The contract includes foundation design, construction, and piping. Commonwealth LNG is a planned 9.5 mtpa export facility. Construction begins in Q3 2026, with mechanical completion targeted for 2029.

Ares Infrastructure Opportunities completed a $1.0 billion preferred equity investment in Commonwealth LNG. The 9.5 mtpa export facility in La. closed $9.75 billion in total project financing alongside sponsors Kimmeridge, Mubadala Energy, and CPPIB. Commonwealth LNG is positioned as one of the most cost-competitive and efficient LNG projects in the United States.
