The LNG Allies Legacy
Twelve Years of Successful Events
2015–Present
Since our inception, LNG Allies has established itself as the premier convenor of USLNG export related events, bringing together hundreds of government officials, energy leaders, and industry stakeholders from around the world. These invitation-only events have generally been on the record and open to the press, generating hundreds of positive stories in dozens of publications. While the purpose of these events is to support USLNG exports, they also provide a platform for LNG Allies member companies.
Transatlantic Energy Security Forum Series
TESF I (Sept. 30, 2015, WDC). Brought together 85 individuals from 17 embassies, congressional staff, and industry leaders, featuring keynote speakers Lithuanian Energy Minister Rokas Masiulis, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, Rep. Joe Barton, Czech Ambassador-at-Large Václav Bartuška, and CEOs from Lietuvos Energija and Delfin LNG.
TESF II (April 26, 2016, Houston). Over 90 participants convened at Rice University’s Baker Institute during Energy Exports Week, with keynotes from DOE Assistant Sec. Chris Smith, State Dept. Deputy Asst. Sec. Robin Dunnigan, and Cheniere CCO Anatol Feygin, plus diplomatic panels featuring EU ambassadors from Lithuania, Croatia, and Hungary.
TESF III (March 19, 2018, Houston). Assembled more than 100 participants around the theme of forging lasting transatlantic energy security partnerships, with discussions of Lithuanian and Polish energy security examples. Speakers included Polish Sec. of State Piotr Naimski, Lithuanian Energy Minister Žygimantas Vaičiūnas, Polish Undersecretary of State Michał Kurtyka, and C-Suite leaders from Tellurian, Magnolia, Sempra, and Delfin.
TESF IV (April 5, 2022, WDC). Drew over 140 participants with opening keynotes from Sen. Joe Manchin, Sen. Bill Cassidy, and Latvia’s Minister for Economics Jānis Vitenbergs, plus fireside chats featuring EQT CEO Toby Rice on unleashing USLNG exports and energy guru Daniel Yergin on how Russia’s war forever changed the energy map. The forum focused on enhanced European energy security following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
TESF V (May 18, 2023, WDC). Convened 125 participants to celebrate U.S.-European energy cooperation and enhance European energy security, with keynote speakers EU Ambassador Stavros Lambrinidis, State Dept. Asst. Sec. Geoffrey Pyatt, and DOE Asst. Sec. Brad Crabtree. Industry panels highlighted innovation in reducing methane emissions and capturing carbon.
TESF VI (May 8, 2025, WDC). Major diplomatic gathering featuring Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković as keynote speaker, representatives from 20+ foreign governments including Croatian Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar, Rep. Robert Latta, and senior officials from Kimmeridge, Chart Industries, and Excelerate Energy. More than 100 individuals attended.
Europe-U.S. LNG Roundtable Series
Roundtable I (May 27–28, 2015, Brussels). The first-ever U.S.-EU conference bringing together commercial interests to discuss LNG export cooperation, with 80+ individuals from 40+ companies across 15+ nations. The opening session was held inside the European Parliament, featuring committee chairs and EU Vice President Maroš Šefčovič. The roundtable culminated in a joint statement with policy recommendations.
Roundtable II (Nov. 4, 2015, WDC). Attracted 70+ individuals including six USLNG exporters, seven major EU customers, and representatives from 14 embassies, featuring keynote remarks from European Parliament ITRE Committee chair Jerzy Buzek and remarks from ambassadors from Croatia and Poland.
USTDA Partnership: Global Gas Infrastructure
Initiative Launch (Nov. 17, 2017, WDC). In the Great Hall of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, LNG Allies co-organized the launch of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency’s Global Gas Infrastructure Initiative, featuring DOE Under Sec. Mark Menezes as keynote speaker, along with USTDA Acting Director Thomas Hardy, State Dept. Deputy Asst. Sec. John McCarrick, Rep. Bill Johnson, and senior executives from Jordan Cove, NextDecade, and Tellurian. More than 170 attended.
WDC Event (March 5, 2020). Follow-on event at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce featuring EXIM chair Kimberly Reed, USTDA Acting Director Thomas Hardy, USAID Deputy Admin. Bonnie Glick, State Dept. Asst. Sec. Francis Fannon, Commerce Asst. Sec. Ian Steff, and DOE Deputy Asst. Sec. Shawn Bennett.
Houston Event (March 10, 2020). Final event before the pandemic shutdown, featuring technology panel discussions and C-Suite leaders from Baker Hughes, Chart Industries, Commonwealth LNG, Annova LNG, and Excelerate Energy.
Relaunch of USTDA’s Global Gas Initiative (March 20, 2026, WDC). Held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and co-organized by LNG Allies. Featured an executive leadership panel with USTDA Deputy Director Tom Hardy, U.S. Chamber Global Energy Institute President Marty Durbin, and Fred Hutchison, followed by a keynote from Jarrod Agen, Executive Director of the National Energy Dominance Council. Panels addressed a decade of USLNG export progress, American energy dominance, and emerging market LNG infrastructure in Sierra Leone and Vietnam. Participating companies included Kimmeridge, Excelerate Energy, Bechtel, and GE Vernova.
Other Major International Forums
Diplomatic Green Room, World Gas Conference (June 25–27, 2018, WDC). Exclusive diplomatic salon bringing together 200+ leaders from 26 nations for focused government-to-government and business-to-government dialogue on global gas markets and USLNG exports. LNG Allies also hosted three widely attended receptions honoring Central European energy security ambassadors-at-large, ASEAN energy officials, and GAIL India’s president, and a dozen meet-and-greet sessions with senior U.S. government officials.
First High-Level Business to Business LNG Forum (May 2, 2019, Brussels). LNG Allies led private sector support and program development with the EU and secured speaking slots for nine USLNG companies. More than 450 officials convened in the European Commission under the U.S.-EU Energy Council, led by Energy Sec. Rick Perry and EU Vice President Maroš Šefčovič.
The Role of USLNG in Addressing Global Challenges (Sept. 12, 2019, WDC). Day-long conference held in conjunction with API and CLNG, drawing 200 participants from business, government, media, and the diplomatic corps. The event focused on how USLNG helps meet global environmental goals, lift people out of poverty, and advance greater global security, with keynotes from DOE Sec. Rick Perry, Sen. Bill Cassidy, and IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol.
U.S. LNG for Asia (Sept. 18, 2019, Houston). Convened U.S. and Asian officials with DOE Asst. Sec. Steven Winberg, Commerce Principal Deputy Asst. Sec. Anne Driscoll, USTDA Acting Director Thomas Hardy, and CEOs of Magnolia, Commonwealth, Annova, and Penn America.
Transpacific Energy Security Discussion (March 6, 2023, Houston). LNG Allies convened senior U.S. and Japanese officials with DOE Asst. Sec. Brad Crabtree, Japanese METI Director Takeshi Soda, Sen. Dan Sullivan, and senior officials from Chart, Tellurian, Excelerate, Chesapeake, and JERA Energy America, in partnership with the U.S. Chamber, AXPC, and EPRINC.
Asia-U.S. LNG Roundtable (Sept. 16, 2024, Houston). Inaugural roundtable held in conjunction with the U.S. India Strategic Partnership Forum and Poten Partners, bringing together 125 participants representing U.S. companies, Asian energy firms from Japan, South Korea, India, China, and Singapore, Australian producers Woodside Energy and Santos, and international majors.
Events in Cooperation with the U.S. Depts. of State and Commerce
U.S.-Americas LNG Forum I (May 22, 2018, Rio de Janeiro). Working with the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, LNG Allies convened and co-hosted an event bringing together USLNG and energy companies with LNG and energy consumers from the Southern Cone, hosting a reception at the residence of U.S. Consul General James Story, with C-Suite leaders attending.
High-Level Dinner (Sept. 5, 2018, WDC). In cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, convened senior representatives from ASEAN nations (Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) and USLNG export executives, with presentations from OPIC President Ray Washburne, State Dept. Asst. Sec. Francis Fannon, DOE Asst. Sec. Steven Winberg, and Commerce Deputy Asst. Sec. Ian Steff.
Brussels EU Reception (May 1, 2019). Hosted a reception at the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to the EU in conjunction with the High-Level Business to Business LNG Forum held in the European Commission.
Republican National Convention Diplomatic Briefing (July 17, 2024, Milwaukee). At the request of the U.S. Dept. of State, LNG Allies and AXPC produced a two-hour program for foreign ambassadors and senior staff attending the Republican National Convention, with more than 40 ambassadors in attendance. Sen. Bill Hagerty delivered the keynote, followed by a USLNG panel featuring C-Suite officials from Chart Industries, Glenfarne, and AXPC.
EU-U.S. LNG Cooperation 2.0 (Feb. 27, 2026, Pittsburgh). Ministerial-level diplomatic summit co-convened by LNG Allies and the EU Delegation to the United States, drawing senior officials and industry executives from across Europe and the United States. Opening keynotes from EU Director General for Energy Ditte Juul Jørgensen and EQT CEO Toby Rice. Featured EU Ambassador Jovita Neliupšiené, Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor, Croatia’s Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar, and ambassadors from Belgium, Croatia, and the Netherlands. Afternoon roundtables addressed EU methane regulation compliance and rebutting Kremlin energy narratives, concluding with a keynote from Sen. Dave McCormick. Senior executives from UNIMOT, Deutsche ReGas, EQT, Excelerate Energy, Glenfarne, and Baker Hughes led the discussion.
Events in Cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany
Berlin LNG Conference (Feb. 12, 2019). Primary private sector co-organizer with the German government, with Fred Hutchison presenting on USLNG exports alongside keynote speakers German Federal Minister Peter Altmaier, Energy Sec. Perry, and IEA Executive Director Birol.
Berlin LNG Conference (July 26, 2022). LNG Allies served as primary private sector co-organizer with the German government, with Fred Hutchison presenting the U.S. perspective on USLNG exports alongside German Sec. of State Stefan Wenzel and U.S. Ambassador Amy Gutmann, and hosting a reception at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.
DOE’s Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC)
First P-TEC Ministerial and Investment Forum (March 14, 2019, Houston). DOE-led ministerial gathering featuring Energy Sec. Rick Perry and DOE Deputy Sec. Dan Brouillette, with Fred Hutchison participating in a panel on Today’s Energy Landscape: Success Stories and Challenges in the Region; alongside DOE Under Sec. Mark Menezes, Lithuanian Energy Minister Žygimantas Vaičiūnas, and Romanian Energy Minister Anton.
Second P-TEC Ministerial (Oct. 7, 2019, Vilnius, Lithuania). DOE-led ministerial in partnership with the Lithuanian government, featuring Energy Sec. Rick Perry, EU Director General for Energy Ditte Juul Jørgensen, and Lithuanian Energy Minister Žygimantas Vaičiūnas. Fred Hutchison participated in the Security of Energy Supply; panel alongside DOE Asst. Sec. Steven Winberg, Polish Deputy Minister Tomasz Dąbrowski, and senior officials from Tellurian, GazSystem, Cheniere, and LNG Croatia.
Sixth P-TEC (Nov. 6–7, 2025, Athens). DOE-led ministerial in partnership with the Greek government, featuring Energy Sec. Chris Wright, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Interior Sec. Doug Burgum, and energy ministers from across Central and Eastern Europe. Fred Hutchison participated in the Corridors of Power: How Natural Gas is Redrawing Europe’s Energy Map; panel examining transatlantic cooperation on LNG infrastructure and energy security.
Energy Exports Week
April 2016 (Houston and WDC). Inaugural week featuring TESF II, a Capitol Hill Transatlantic Energy Dialogue with 50+ attendees and four members of Congress, plus signing ceremonies for MOUs between U.S. and Polish port authorities in Port Arthur, Texas and Jacksonville, Fla.
March 2018 (Houston and WDC). Featured TESF III plus an Expanding Global Gas Infrastructure; Capitol Hill event with 125 participants, nine members of Congress, USTDA Deputy Director Enoh Ebong, Polish Sec. of State Piotr Naimski, Lithuanian Energy Minister Žygimantas Vaičiūnas, and METI Minister Jun Kuroda from the Embassy of Japan.
Celebrating a Decade of USLNG Exports
Ten Years of U.S.-European LNG Cooperation (Feb. 23, 2026, WDC). Celebratory gathering at the LNG Allies Event Center marking the first decade of USLNG exports, co-convened by LNG Allies Founder Fred Hutchison and EU Ambassador Jovita Neliupšiené. Featured ministerial remarks from the Energy Ministers of Lithuania, Greece, and Poland, and EU Director General for Energy Ditte Juul Jørgensen. Naftogaz’s Director of International Cooperation offered remarks remembering Ukraine, followed by toasts from energy company CEOs representing Poland, Lithuania, and Estonia.
Upcoming Events
Transatlantic LNG Partnerships Forum (May 18, 2026, Amsterdam). LNG Allies is the lead supporting organization for this one-day forum organized by the U.S. Foreign and Commercial Service at the Okura Hotel, connecting USLNG producers with European offtakers from 18 countries through structured one-on-one meetings, panel discussions on EU methane regulation and USLNG supply outlooks, and a reception hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands. The forum precedes the 32nd Flame Conference.
Over the past twelve years, LNG Allies has organized dozens of major events reaching thousands of participants across six continents, helping establish America as the world’s leading LNG exporter while building essential bridges between USLNG producers and international customers.
