Venture Global: Advancing CP2 Construction & Expansion
Jamison Cocklin (NGI): Venture Global has filed at FERC to expand its CP2 LNG plant in Cameron Parish, La. by 11.7 mtpa, adding a third phase with six liquefaction blocks and a new marine berth. The company has separately sought FERC authorization to uprate the first two phases to 35 mtpa from 28 mtpa, and filed to expand its Plaquemines LNG terminal by 30 mtpa. Both CP2 phases—totaling more than $23 billion in investment, including the 4.4 bcf/d CP Express Pipeline—are under construction, with first LNG targeted for the second half of 2027. Venture Global is also considering a separate CP3 facility capable of producing 30 mtpa.
Venture Global–Atlantic-SEE: SPA Expanded
Jamison Cocklin (NGI): Venture Global and Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade of Greece announced an expansion of their SPA, doubling contracted USLNG supply from 0.5 to 1.0 mtpa for twenty years beginning in 2030. Atlantic-SEE (a joint venture of Greek companies AKTOR Group and DEPA Commercial) will route supply through the Alexandroupolis LNG import terminal, where Venture Global holds regasification capacity representing roughly 25% of terminal capacity. The expanded agreement advances the South-North Vertical Corridor as a pathway for USLNG into Central and Eastern Europe. The Alexandroupolis terminal is owned and operated by Gastrade, an LNG Allies member.
