Fred H. Hutchison

Detailed Biography

Fred H. Hutchison is President & CEO of LNG Allies. An advocate, communicator, and entrepreneur, Fred has been a government and public relations generalist for five decades and is a trusted adviser to private and public sector leaders worldwide. Prior to founding LNG Allies (as an advocacy coalition) in October 2013, he represented America’s land-grant universities for 12 years. Early in his career, he served as a legislative assistant for energy and natural resources for U.S. Sen. Frank Church. Raised on an Idaho farm and educated as a civil engineer, Fred earned a B.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In May 2025, the European Union and its 27 Member States honored him (as one of four Americans) with the Transatlantic Bridge Award, to recognize his “invaluable contribution to the energy security of the European Union [and his] relentless effort to create a transatlantic market for liquefied natural gas.”
