The activists subsequently buttonholed White House and federal officials around the world in a high-intensity grassroots effort to stop the approval process for new LNG projects. “They got our attention,” a senior official said, describing the campaign as intense… The billionaire’s effort, called “The Funder Collaborative” began with a memo in 2019 to NGOs to assess interest in a broad campaign to take on the LNG industry… Did it succeed? A few days after Biden announced the pause on new LNG export licenses, the Rockefeller Family Fund’s Sarah Brennan celebrated the win: “The pause… is the result of a sustained four-year push that built upon years of opposition to gas exports by community groups and lawyers,” she wrote in an email to e-NGOs.
