Woodside Energy Acquires Tellurian

USLNG Developer Tellurian Acquired for $1.2 billion (Reuters)
Curtis Williams, Ayushman Ojha (July 22): Australia’s Woodside Energy has agreed to buy USLNG developer Tellurian, including the Driftwood LNG export project, for $1.2 billion. The deal includes a $900 million cash purchase of outstanding Tellurian common stock at $1 per share. Driftwood is located in Lake Charles, La. and has a capacity of 27.6 mtpa. The deal gives Woodside access to this fully authorized port on U.S. soil, offering a valuable advantage amid the Biden administration’s current pause on USLNG export approvals. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the year, helping to reinforce the position of the United States as the world’s leading producer of LNG. Link to Content
