Tellurian ‘Adapts’ Driftwood LNG Plans on Heels of Covid-19 (NGI)
Caroline Evans (April 09): Tellurian could begin construction on the “owner obligation” portions of its Driftwood LNG facility in Louisiana as early as this summer, CEO Octávio Simões said. He also noted that: (1) On FID: “There are some scenarios where we think we could do it before the end of the year, and there are some scenarios where it would be early next year.” (2) TELL has made some adjustments to its model. The changes include offering cargoes indexed to the JKM and TTF benchmarks instead of Henry Hub. Simões said the company’s integrated model… makes it possible to bypass volatility risk around Henry Hub pricing. (3) Tellurian is continuing its search for more equity partners to fund the project in exchange for offtake. It is currently offering 10 mtpa in contracts for a term of 10 years. Link to Content
Sempra: KKR to Buy Stake in Sempra Infrastructure for $3.37 Billion (Bloomberg)
Simon Casey and Josh Saul (April 05): KKR & Co. has agreed to pay $3.37 billion for a 20% stake in a Sempra Energy’s infrastructure assets, including Sempra LNG and IEnova. KKR will invest via its Global Infrastructure Investors Funds. The deal is expected to close by mid-2021. Link to Content
Calcasieu Pass: Feed Gas Pipeline Cleared for Service (NGI)
Caroline Evans (April 07): FERC has authorized USLNG developer Venture Global LNG to place into service a pipeline to deliver feed gas to the company’s Calcasieu Pass export facility, currently under construction in Louisiana… The agency permitted the TransCameron pipeline to enter service based on the company’s recent construction reports and photo documentation… The 24-mile, 42-inch-diameter pipeline extends eastward from the Calcasieu Pass LNG facility to Grand Chenier, LA.
