Freeport: Buyers Said to Renew Interest In Supplies from Train 4 (S&P Global Platts)
Harry Weber and Corey Paul (March 03): CEO Michael Smith said that Freeport LNG has recently seen renewed interest from buyers in long-term contracts tied to Train 4. Smith said the swings showed that the “market is much more balanced than previously thought.” There has been an overreliance on spot cargoes in our industry. You can’t just live on spot. We’re seeing interest again in long-term contracts for Train 4 because of it, and I think others will, too.” Link to Content
Calcasieu Pass: Moving at Fast Construction Pace (S&P Global Platts)
Harry Weber (March 03): CEO Michael Sabel said that Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass terminal in Louisiana was expected to have almost half of its production trains in place within weeks, putting the 10 mtpa project well ahead of schedule… Sabel said he expected the seventh and eighth trains of the 18-train facility to be installed in the coming weeks. “We are about 20 months after FID and earlier this week just plugged in our fifth and sixth trains.” Link to Content
