Asia’s Growing Appetite for LNG Open/Markets
Adila McHich, Cameron Liao (July 02): USLNG offers sustainability, diversification and energy security to Asia, home to more than half the world’s population. The region is reliant on LNG imports as growing energy demand outpaces supply… A recent Berkeley Research Group study for LNG Allies found that USLNG GHG emissions are 53% lower than coal on average and 63% lower than pipeline gas from Russia and Turkmenistan… Coal-to-gas switching is one of the main drivers behind gas demand growth in Asia. Shell stated in its annual report that LNG is key to meet growing Asian energy demand expanding at a CAGR of 5.1% through 2040. Link to Content
